The Morristown Gazette, 10 Feb 1909:

"Death of Mrs. C. S. Anderson.
-----
This estimable lady died at her home on Holston river Tuesday morning, Feb. 2d, at 1:15 o'clock, of bronchial pneumonia, superinduced by cold, aged 78 years, 3 months and 29 days. Mrs. Anderson came from an old and honored family, one among the pioneers of Greenbriar county, W. Va. She was the second daughter of the late Col. William and Patsey Alderson Feamster. She has two brothers and one sister surviving her, viz: Lieut. S. W. N. and Joseph A. Feamster, of Alderson W. Va., and Mrs. S. H. C. Tyree, of Frankford, W. Va. She was married to C.S. Anderson, of Salem Va., May 30, 1865. She has five daughters and two sons surviving her. In her early childhood she professed religion and joined the Presbyterian church at Lewisburg, W. Va. After moving to Tennessee, no Presbyterian church being convenient, she connected herself with the Methodist church at Noe's Chapel, of which she has been a consistent member. Owing to the feeble condition of her health she was debarred from attending church as much as she desired. In her dying hour she called her children to her bedside and told them good-bye, and said all was well with her. Thus passed away from earth a loving and devoted wife, a fond, faithful, self-sacrificing mother, whose children's welfare was everything to her, and who is mourned as one whose place in the family circle is made vacant and desolate.

'Anchor of many hearts and joy of all,
Too soon for us she heard the Master's call.
Ah! for us all too soon--but not for her
Our comfort she, but He, her comforter.
For when to death her spirit gently bowed,
And the heart's sunshine went beneath the cloud,
And in her smile the light of love grew dim;
She fell asleep in God, and is with Him.'

Funeral services were held at Noe's Chapel Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. Jones, the pastor. The pall-bearers were A. E. Ross, R. C. Bales, J. J. Long, J. R. Noe, W. Loop, C. H. Hays. The floral offerings were many and beautiful."
