Alma Ruth Granger, age 82, of Cedar Lake, passed away at her residence, Thursday, January 4th, 1979. Survivors: husband, Olen; three daughters, Mrs. Ethelyn (Fred) Kiechle of Cedar Lake, Mrs. Jeane (Robert) Underwood of Huston, Texas, Mrs. Thelma (Roy) Honeywell of Apache Junction, Arizona; one son, Olen C. (Frances) Granger, Jr. of Cedar Lake; one brother, Roland McCoy of Cedar Lake; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 10 a.m. from the Emmerling-Paddack Chapel, 6020 Holman Ave., Hammond, with the Rev. Vernon Scott officiating. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for which envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
Mrs. Granger was active in the Gospel Lighthouse Church of Cedar Lake, and the Baptist Church in Solfo, Florida; a member of the Lowell Chapter #350 Order of the Eastern Star; active in the home demonstration clubs in Cedar Lake and Florida; and in former years she operated a nursery in her home in Cedar Lake.
