Ardath Ann Roudebush, age 82, of Lyons, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Lyons Health and Living Center. Ardath was born October 6, 1933, the daughter of Oliver (Slick) and Aubrey Bloomer.
Ardath was a 1951 graduated of Lyons High School. She married Laverne Roudebush on September 14, 1951 at the Lyons Methodist Church by Rev. Paul Kerr. She worked at Griffin Engineering in Worthington, Custom Farm Service in Beehunter, and the L & M School in Lyons. She was a lifelong member of the Lyons United Methodist Church, the Newberry Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She started the Girl Scout Troops in Lyons in the 1960's.
Ardath is survived by her husband, Laverne, four children, Diana (Steve) Cornelius of Switz City, Teresa (Carlos) Craig of Sandborn, Doug (Marilyn) Roudebush of Sullivan, Jeff Roudebush of Owensville, ten grandchildren, Eric Craig, Chris Cornelius, Jared Cornelius, Carrie Craig, Stephanie Watson, Josh Roudebush, Abby Elpers, Paige Ray, Joni Steele, Scott Goldman, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and two brothers, Edgar Bloomer of Smyrna, Tenn. and Andy Bloomer of Midland, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Theresa Roudebush, and in-laws, Raymond and Floe Roudebush.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Lyons United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
