The Derrick, Monday, Mar 5 1973:
Mrs. Kathrine Carter Alstrom, 65, of 34 Prospect Ave, died at 3:55 am Sunday in Franklin Hospital where she had been admitted Friday, following an extended illness. Daughter of Frank and Lela Martin Davis, she was born at Holland, Forest County, April 13, 1907.

She spent her early life in Forest County and attended public schools there, then spent the greater part of her life in Franklin. An excellent cook, she worked for 24 years at the L&C Restaurant, retiring in 1971 due to ill-health.

In 1926 she married Eugene Carter who died Feb 12 1948, then in 1951 married Carl Alstrom, now of Clarion.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Mary Jane) Latchaw of Franklin; 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Arelo) Burgdorf of Barberton, OH, Mrs. Harvey (Pearl) Koser of Holly Hill, FL, and Mrs. Kenneth (Garnet) Eckman of DeLand, FL; three brothers, Claude Davis of Port Arthur, TX, John Davis of San Jose, CA, and Frank Davis of Daytona Beach, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Shaffer and Mrs. George (Bertha) Meeker, are deceased.

Services will be in the Huff Chapel with Rev. Robert L. Simmons, pastor of the United Brethren in Christ Church, and Rev. Andrew Slozat of the Pilgrim Holiness Church officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
