Around 1890, he moved to Cloud County, Kansas, settling in the small township of Arion where he took up farming. Here, he met Clara Lillian Shrader, who lived in nearby Concordia, Kansas and they were married December 25, 1893. They had two sons, Lloyd William and Max Duane.
The family eventually moved to Pomona, Kansas where Isaac continued farming until late in life. Clara passed away June 5, 1946. Isaac passed away nearly four years later on May 3, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the home of son Lloyd. Both are buried at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
