Mrs. Anna Myrtle Lamphear, 84, a former resident of Alda, died Thursday evening in a Grand Island nursing home. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Mead officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Fund.

Mrs. Lamphear was born Oct. 3, 1893, in Alda to Albert and Mary Clark Filsinger. The family moved to Kimball for three years but then returned to Alda where she completed her education. She married Louis L. Lamphear on April 24, 1912, in Grand Island. He died in 1967. She lived on the family farm northwest of Alda for 65 years. Mrs. Lamphear was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd of Alda and Lee of Hebron; a sister, Mrs. Mable Andrews of Alda, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
