Mrs. Pierce, Here 42 Years, Expires
Mrs. Jennie Pierce, 79, a Fort Collins resident for 42 years, died early today at the county hospital. She had been in the hospital a week for treatment of a heart ailment. Her home was at 130 West Lake street.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Miami county, Ohio, July 20, 1869. She was married Feb. 20, 1888, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, to John R. Pierce, who died here in June, 1934. They came here in 1907. Mrs. Pierce was a member of the Methodist church here.
Surviving relatives are two daughters, Mrs. Clotele Robinson of 130 West Lake street and Mrs. Dora McArthur of Denver; a son, Anthony G. Pierce of Oakland, Calif.., and a granddaughter, Dianne Pierce of Oakland.
Another son, Lester Pierce, who died in service during World war I, and a daughter, Miss Ethel Pierce, who died in 1923, are buried at Grandview cemetery here.
The funeral has been set for 3 p. m. Saturday at the Balmer & Collins mortuary, to be conducted by the Rev. Henry L. Weiss. Burial will be at Grandview cemetery.
