Mr. Leonard Lamar Argo age 76 of Thomaston GA, died Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Argo was born on March 7, 1939 in Thomaston GA, to the late Leonard and Odessa Cline Argo. He was formerly employed with Jackson Prison where he worked a correctional officer for many years. Mr. Argo served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lexington in Korea. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mr. Argo was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Iris Argo; and son, Mr. Kevin Argo.Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Kelli (Jarrell) Pitts of Thomaston GA, Mrs. Terri (Mike) Bridges of Thomaston GA; sister, Mrs. Sandra (Joe) Long of Thomaston GA; sister in law, Mrs. Carmen (J.C.) Ivie of Woodland GA; grandchildren, Carmen Mack, Brook Chaffin, Cody Bridges, Courtney Bridges, Abbie Argo, Anna Argo; great-grandchildren, Brandy Parsons, Amber Mack, Elijah Mack, David Mack, Austyn Bridges, Cameron Chaffin, Kiersten Chaffin, and Ciara Mack.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery, The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday March 4, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Upson County Animal Shelter at 2371 Yatesville Hwy, Thomaston GA. 30286.
