Priscilla Lee Painter, 67 of Cool Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on February 29, 2016, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 24, 1948 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Donnie "Ray" Decker (1926-Deceased) and Doris Lee Farley-Decker (1932-2013).

She graduated from Stoco High School. She was a loving wife and mother. She was the founder of Star Ministries and devoted herself to helping others. Priscilla was a gifted writer and teacher. She had touched many lives throughout ministry but especially in prayer. She was devoted to the Lord and took the time to pray for others, even while she battled cancer, it was her heart to pray for others in cancer treatment. Our hearts are saddened by our loss, but rejoice in Heaven’s gain.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Hurley Denver “Chip” Thompson, III (Deceased).

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Painter; son, Brandon Thompson and wife Susan of Cool Ridge; granddaughters, Haylie Thompson and Katelyn Thompson; brothers, Ray Decker and family, David Decker and family, John Decker and family, and a host of beloved friends and extended family.

Friends may gather with the family from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Alfred Painter officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
