HORSESHOE BEND — Services for Robert R. Bowers, 82, of Horseshoe Bend, who died Wednesday at an Emmett hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Horseshoe Bend Ladles Hall by the Rev. Don Stephens of the Emmett Assembly of God Church. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery.
He was born Aug, 28, 1891, at Alliance, Neb., and came to Idaho in 1915. He served in the Army during World War I. He married Frances E. Stone in July, 1920, at Sweet, She died in 1930. He married Rosa Mansfield on Nov. 8, 1947, at Winnemucca, Nev. She died in 1963. He had formed at Horseshoe Bend and worked at Hoff Lumber Co. until he retired. He had been a member of the American Legion in Horseshoe Bend.
Survivors are two sons, Richard Bowers, Renton, Wash., and Frank Bowers, Horseshoe Bend; a daughter. Grace Hawkins, Horseshoe Bend; four stepsons, including Bill Mansfield, Boise; five stepdaughters. Including Eleen Hendren, Boise; a brother, Kent Bowers, and a sister, Susie Bowers, both of Multen, Neb.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
