Alex Takeo Inouye, 95, of Pepeekeo died Feb. 12 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired state bridge maintenance supervisor, U.S. Army veteran and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughter, Kathryn (Wayne) Yanagisawa of Hilo; sons, Dennis (Yvonne) Inouye and David (Ok Hui) Inouye of Hilo; brothers, Harry (Takeko) Inouye of San Francisco and Walter (Ellen) Inouye of Honolulu; sister, Patsy Adachi of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Inouye and Sonoko Muranaka of Hilo, Karen Kawasaki of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
