Sr Marie-Dosithée Guérin VHM

Marie-Louise-Pétronille Guérin (known as Élise) was born on May 31, 1829, in Gandelain, outside of Alençon (Orne). She was the eldest of three children born to Isidore and Louise-Jeanne (Macé) Guerin. On April 7, 1858, Élise entered the Visitation Monastery in Le Mans. On February 24, 1859, she received the Habit of the Visitation and was given the name Sr Marie-Dosithée. On March 12, 1860, she made her religious profession. From 1861-67, Sr Marie-Dosithée served the community as the assistant Mistress of Novices. She suffered from tuberculosis, however in July of 1869, it went into remission. In the Winter of 1869, her health began to decline. On February 24, 1877, Sr Marie-Dosithée Guérin died in the Visitation Monastery of Le Mans, from tuberculosis, at the age of 48.
