Married: April 10, 1948 - Summit County, Ohio to Barbara McMahan.

James K. Black, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Barbara McMahan Black; sister, Bernice Garner of California; children, Jean (Frank) Ramsey, of Uniontown, James (Dorothy) Black, of Grosse, Point Farms, Mich., Barbara (Christopher) Wagner, of Cincinnati and Thomas Black.

His 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will greatly miss Grandpa.

Jim was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp in World War II and a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church of Akron.

Following his retirement from The Billow Funeral Home in 1984 as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, Jim delighted his family with his wood crafting skills, creating bowls, toys, plaques, Nativity and Easter scenes.

Jim provided figurines to be given to the children at Oak Hill at Christmas and Easter seasons.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Billow LAKES Chapel, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619) with Rev. Bill Hostutler officiating.

Interment at Wood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave., Akron 44312.
