Peter Bergsten Dies At Dunnell
Pioneer Settler of Community 82 Years Old--Services Wednesday.
Peter J. Bergsten, who built and occupied the first house in the village of Dunnell, died there yesterday at the age of 82. He would have been 83 years old Jan. 4.
A carpenter, Mr. Bergsten was one of a group of immigrants to Martin county from Iowa who formed the Dunnell community.
Death was attributed to age. He had been ill but three days.
He is survived by a son, Evald Bergsten of Triumph, and two daughters, Mrs. A. M. Wenberg of Sherburn and Mrs. Judith Danielson of Fairmont. Another daughter, Rehlia Bergsten, Minneapolis school teacher, died last May.
Mrs. Bergsten died in 1918.
Peter Bergsten was born in Sweden and upon coming to the United States settled at Ogden, Iowa, where he lived a few years before moving to Dunnell.
Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran church at Dunnell Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. N. O. Montan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
