Don Kaye Beaver, of Indianapolis, died February 24, 2016 in Indianapolis. Born November 23, 1930 in Castleton, Indiana, he was the son of Donald and Glenna (Hinshaw) Beaver.

He was known for his love of knowledge, and still did the Indianapolis Star crossword daily. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1948. A Korean War Veteran, he served in the Navy from 1951-1955.

He earned undergraduate and Masters degrees from Indiana University, and rode a bicycle in the first Little 500. He was a High School Social Studies teacher in Bloomington for 30 years.

He was married to Mary (Aitken) Beaver for 47 years, until her death in 2003.

Don is survived by daughters, Lorrie Levesque (Richard) and Valerie Beaver-Kern, grandson, William Kern III, sister, Jeanne Johnson, 3 nieces, and a nephew.
