Themason died young on 24 Aug 1835 at North Castle, New York. The obituary listed in the Westchester Spy newspaper indicated that he was in perfect health when he went to his neighbor's to help uplift some roots out of the ground. While helping his neighbor he inexplicably suffered an apoplectic shock and after several attempts to revive him, he died. He was the oldest son of Jonathan Finch, Jr. and Sarah Brown of North Castle, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut. He was a native of North Castle but also was a frequent visitor of the family's Round Hill homestead in Greenwich. His grave remains currently unknown however there is a record of his grave at the Connecticut State Library. It will be searched when I am able to make a trip up to Hartford, Connecticut.
