Eleanor Mowrey, 69, of Silver Spring Road, an attendant at the Ladd School, Exeter, until retiring seven years ago, died yesterday at South County Hospital. She was the wife of James V. Mowrey Sr.
Born in South Kingstown, a daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Pucella) Petrus, she moved from Narragansett to North Kingstown 33 years ago.
Mrs. Mowrey was a member of Martha Chapter 25, Order of the Eastern Star, the Quidnessett Grange and the North Kingstown Senior Association.
Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Michael Collins of North Kingstown, James V. Mowrey Jr. of Charlestown Norbert Collins Jr. of Exeter; four daughters, Eleanor Collins of North Kingstown, Kathleen Anton of Tecumseh, Mich., Annette Rogers of Providence and Linda Ayotte of Oklawaha, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
