Born in Providence, R.I., he had lived in Wareham for the past eight years. Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, he was employed by the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harriet Purdy and Mrs. Mildred L. Taylor, both of Onset; and Mrs. Clarice Remick, of Wareham; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. from the Stott Funeral Home. The Rev. G. Raymond Shaffer, rector of the Church of the good Shepherd, officiated. Interment was in Agawam Cemetery.
