Walter Kenneth Kruger, 99, of Purcellville, Virginia, formerly of MN, passed on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Walter was born on November 11, 1916 in Granite Falls, MN. He was a son of the late Oliver B. Kruger and the late Caroline Bestland Kruger.

Walter was mayor of Hanley Falls, MN, owner of a home contractor business and a 120 acre farm. He was on many church councils, director and soloist in church choirs, and a Sunday school teacher. He played the accordion, guitar, harmonica, and had his own band.

Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife Clara Alma Lydia Haerle Kruger in 2004, a son Bruce Kruger in 2010, and his sister Verna Johansson and brother Harlan Kruger.

He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his daughter, Carolyn Kruger, sons Kenneth Kruger, and Keith Kruger; daughter in law, Diana, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests for visitation on Friday, February 26th, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 27th, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church 38011 Morrisonville Road, Lovettsville, VA 20180.

Interment will be held at a later date in Granite Falls Cemetery, Granite Falls, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to GENESIS International, orphans and vulnerable children of Malawi, PO Box 3, Round Hill, VA 20142.
