Karen Padgett Brown, 71, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at her home. She was the widow of William Lawrence Brown who died in 2010.

Mrs. Brown was a native of Ridgeland, SC and a daughter of the late Harry Elijah and Lila Bennett Padgett. She was a homemaker and formerly had been a hairdresser. She was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. She was a kind, thoughtful, and loving mother and sister and she always put others before herself.

She is survived by a daughter: Kelly Lynn Brown of Boiling Springs and a sister: Ruby Wilson of Spartanburg; a brother-in-law: Joe Brown of Gaffney and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by sisters: Doris DeLoach and Alice Bamond.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Memorial Park officiated by Dr. Wayne Brown. The family will meet friends at the gravesite following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 155 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family will be at the home.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jayne Batchelor, Margie Dobbins, Miranda Jefferies, Donna Mize, Kathy Tindal, Ann Valentine, and Caris Hospice for their care during this illness.
