Martin served our country in the United States Army. He managed Fussnecker Sweepers in Springfield for over 30 years.
Martin is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Daisy Pelfrey of Springfield, two sons: James Abston (fiance' Angela) of Fairborn, and Martin Wayne (Dawna) Wells of Kettering; thirteen grandchildren: Lee (Amber), Kristy (Jason), Joe (Vanja), Travis, James (Kristin), Christopher (Sandy), Kimberly (James), Bryan (Devon), Brittany, Nikki, Tori, Haley, and Emily; 20 great grandchildren, two sisters: Betty Steele and Barbara Rucker; two brothers: Randy and Bill Pelfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa (Pelfrey) Abston, son, Joe Abston, and three brothers: Ray, John, and Richard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, Ohio.
Services and burial will be held on Saturday in Rockwood, Tennessee. Martin was deeply loved by his family and will be sadly missed.
