ALVIN CAMBE, age 80, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2002 at Millers Merry Manor in Portage. Alvin was a longtime Lake Station, where he was an elder; a former member of the VFW of Kouts and was an accomplished farmer, gardner and fisherman. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Bonnie; son, Jerry (Mary) Cambe of Westville; daughters, Sharon Carter of South Haven, Sarah Archer of Portage and Shirley (Terry) Keller of Portage; sister, Doris Dahn of Medaryville; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elsie Cambe, brother, Paul Cambe, and sisters, Clara Clarke and Bonnie Cambe.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18. 2002 in Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, IN, with Pastor A.G. McKinley officiating. Burial will follow immediately after services in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visiting hours will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002 in Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, Portage.
