Edward L. Wildes, 92, of Clermont, FL, passed away on February 18, 2016.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Gerald; stepdaughters Hope Lamb, Cathy Mayberry and Sue Hausladen; his brother Grady, along with other family and friends.

Ed loved his God, loved his family, and loved his country. Ed lived a colorful & interesting life. He was born in Waycross, GA he was raised on a farm in South GA, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served in 3 wars. He retired from the Navy and settled in Jacksonville, FL.

He never met a stranger & would tell stories to anyone who'd listen.

Being predeceased by his first wife Sue Nell in 1995, he would later be reunited and marry with his childhood sweetheart Gloria (Dodie) in a storybook romance and relocate to Clermont in 2010.

Due to restrictions on floral arrangements at Florida National Cemetery, the family requests donations made in lieu of flowers to: First United Methodist Church in Clermont, FL. Brewer and Sons Clermont Chapel.
