Mary Ellen Nichols, 97, of Indianapolis, passed away February 21, 2016. She was born September 22, 1918 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late Lafayette and Kate (Propes) Bailey. Mary married Marlin R. Nichols, December 27, 1940 and he preceded her in death April 9, 1984. She was a charter member of At. Pius X Catholic Church, and a former hostess for Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary. Mary was a past member of the Riviera Club and she loved gardening, fishing and sewing.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 12 noon at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr. with visitation there from 10:00 a.m until the time of the mass.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia J. Dagon, Kenneth B. Nichols(Donna), Brenda M. Tolliver(Tim) and Andrea J. Maynard(James); son-in-law, Chuck A. Glomski; grandchildren, Matthew J. Dragon (Meghan), David A. Glomski(Kris), Anthony M. Glomski, Justin Nichols(Sharon)Casey Nichols, Jared Dettmer, Jon Dettmer and Collen M. Fosnight(Joe); great-grandchildren, Jacob and Leo Dagon, Brodey and Bailey Nichols and Gabriella Fosnight; and sister, Aileen Kerr. A daughter, Marlene Glomski; son-in-law, John Dagon; and six siblings, preceded her in death.

Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Sishers-Castleton Chapel.
