Martha Patsy Sweeney Busby
Birth 22 November 1811 in Warren Co, , Kentucky,
Death 8 March 1850 in Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky

Martha "Patsy" Sweeney, born Nov 22, 1811, Warren County, Kentucky. She married David T. Busby, son of Matthew Busby and Seluda Tinsley, on Nov 22, 1832 in Warren County; on her birthday it seems. She died 1850 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Parents were Edmund Sweeney and Mary "Polly" Johnson. Edmund was believed to have lived in Lincoln Co, KY, but born in Amherst Co, VA, where Matthew Busby and Seluda were originally from. Edmund was the son of Moses Sweeney and Mary Elizabeth Johnson. Martha "Patsy" also had brothers, Noel Sweeney (older than Martha), and younger brothers, John and Charles. John born ca 1814, Charles-no info. Noel married Jane Mooreman in 1829 and by 1832 he had his own farm 5 miles from the Sweeney place. Edmund's place was supposedly located just outside Bowling Green. Both Edmund and Mary were deceased by 1834 and are buried in same cemetery as their daughter, Martha Busby.

David T. Busby and wife, Martha, supposedly have 3 children buried on the old Sweeney farm (may now be called the Dr. Koostra or the Davenport place) and I believe that they lived on this farm after Edmund and Mary died. I have never been able to find the burial site for Martha Busby and wonder if she, too, is buried there with her children. The children were Mary F. Busby, b. 1836-d.1839;Matthew Busby, born 1838-d. 1847 and CassAnn/Cassandra Busby, born 1846-d. 1846. **Note: Mary F. Busby death taken from Warren County Cemetery Records, Volumn I, pg. 96

After the deaths of Martha and his 3 children, David took his 4 remaining children and moved to Texas, ca 1850/51.
