He served in the USAF, from August 11, 1950 until his discharge on August 10. 1954. He was married to Eva J. Atteberry and was the father of two daughters. He died a tragic death in Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA when he was electrocuted as a result of a drilling rig touched a power line. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Sebastopol, California
