Samuel Salvatore Agnello, 87, a resident of Erie died Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1918 in Erie, the son of the late John and Josephine Verga Agnello. A lifelong Erie resident, Sam retired in 1982 from the American Tinning Co. as a superintendent after 34 years of working there. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joe Agnello; and a sister, Lillian Berarducci. Sam is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Mantoan Agnello; a son, John Agnello and his wife, Rita, of Erie; three daughters, Claudia Luppino and her husband, Bud, of Riverside, Calif., Sandra Arble of Erie, and Karen Rycek and her husband, Ronald, of Erie. He is the brother of Frank Agnello, Dena Scalzitti, Mary DiBacco, and Rose DiTullio, all of Erie. Sam is also survived by many grandchildren, including Nicole DeLaval and her husband, Chris, along with many great-grandchildren, including Marco, Dominic, and Rocco DeLaval. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
