She was born on Sept. 19, 1918, in Williamsport, MD, to the late Brown C. and Reba Slifer Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Litten, on May 20, 2012, whom she married on June 29, 1941.
She was a 1936 graduate of Williamsport High School, Williamsport. She was a survivor of the school bus accident of April 11, 1935, near Rockville, MD.
Blanche was a lifelong member of the Manor Church of the Brethren and Downsville Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Elaine Smith of Hagerstown and Kaye Lorraine Rhodes of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Mark Smith, Karen Rhodes Lavanier and Andrew Rhodes; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Boppe; and four brothers, Omer Long, Raymond Long, Lawrence Long and Carl Long.
A memorial service will be held at Manor Church of the Brethren, 18511 Manor Church Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713, on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Wilkie Nunn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village Benevolent Fund, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
