Phyllis M. Matuszak, 81, formerly of Castorland, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in The Pines at Utica, NY, where she had resided.
Born on June 30, 1933*, in Denmark, NY, the daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth Valin Johnson, she was a 1950 graduate of Beaver Falls High School, and a 1951 graduate of Watertown School of Commerce.
She married Louis Matuszak on April 3, 1952, at St. Peter’s Church, Lowville.
In her earlier years, she had worked as a secretary and at various other jobs in the North Country.
She is survived by two children; her son, John Matuszak, of Ithaca, and her daughter, Gail McEligot, of Utica; 3 grandchildren and a great grandson, a brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Donna Johnson, of Beaver Falls, and a nephew.
A graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in Riverside Annex Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
