John J. Adamczyk, of Nuangola, died Sunday in Montgomery General Hospital, Olney, Md.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Sally Geffert Adamczyk.

He resided in Beltsville, Md., for 15 years and resided in Nuangola for the past 10 years.

While in Maryland, he was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Carriage Hill Apartments. He was previously employed in area coal mines and in the assessor's office in the Luzerne County Courthouse.

He was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Thomas Adamczyk, in 1989.

Surviving are his wife, the former Julia Partash; son, Thomas, Mountaintop; daughters, Mrs. Maryann Shubilla, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. Julianne Lewis, Beltsville, Md.; Mrs. Elaine Luther III, Waldorf, Md.; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Joseph, Reading; Bernard, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Rollman, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Helen Kaschak, Luzerne; Mrs. Mary Wagner, Bayonne, N.J.; Mrs. Dorothy Sabol, Hunlock Creek.

The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 1 p.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Parastas will be 3 p.m. Wednesday.
