Anita Faye (Cates) Lupardus
(February 10, 1952 - February 17, 2016)

Anita Faye (Cates) Lupardus, age 64, of Ulman, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at her home. She was born in Harrisonville on February 10, 1952, daughter of the late Arvy and Joann (Hamburg) Cates. On December 31, 1997, in Las Vegas, Anita married Harley “Benny” Lupardus, who survives at the home.

Anita attended Creighton Sherwood High School. Following high school Anita graduated from CSMU with her teaching degree in 1973. She taught Junior High and High School at School of the Osage for the majority of her teaching career, but retired from teaching at Cole R-V in Eugene. Anita also worked for Cargill as a hog producer winning many awards.

Anita enjoyed being outdoors exploring caves, tending to her garden, being around animals and horse riding. She loved to cook for her family and treasured her time vacationing with her family and friends. Anita was so proud to watch her grandson, Nolan, compete in truck pulls.

In addition to her husband, Benny, she is also survived by two children, Heather Evers of Jefferson City and Quentin Lupardus and wife Theresa of Tuscumbia; two grandchildren, Nolan and Ella Lupardus both of Tuscumbia; one brother, Autry Cates and wife Teresa and their children Kassie and Shyann all of Garden City; and one sister, Janet Daniels and husband Randy of Garden City; and several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Phil Gardner will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia.

Visitation will from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to her grandchildren’s, Nolan and Ella Lupardus educational fund.
