Alvin was born in McGregor, Texas, to the late Alvin Bryan and Hennietta Louise (Hodde) Fisk. He received his education at Eagle Springs, Oglesby and McGregor. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1944 in Norfolk, Va. Much of his life was spent in the cement business, being employed by Universal Atlas and Lehigh Portland Cement Plant in Waco. After thirty-two years of service he retired in 1982. He was a member of Moody Church of Christ and the United Steel Workers Union in Waco.
Survivors include son, Alvin "Al" Fisk and wife, Olivia, of Austin; daughter, Sue Dickinson and husband, Don, of Iredell; six grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Fisk and wife, Luz, of Houston, Leland Fisk and wife, Ethel, of Denton, and Pete Fisk and wife, Sondra, of Rosebud-Lott; and sisters, Joyce Duckworth, of Irvin, Trudy Scarborough and husband, Ted, of Austin.
