Russel E. Sexton, 94, of Endicott passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
Russ was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Erna (Toepke) Sexton; two sisters, Freda Atwood, Frances "Sue" Lainhart.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julia Sexton; children, Michelle and James Thayer, New Hampshire, James and Colleen Sexton, Endicott, Rebecca Sexton and Jerome Natoli, Cortland; five grandchildren, Desiree, Lauren, Ashley, Kristen, Emma; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Russ was a proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and retired from IBM after 39 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post #1371,the American Legion and NRA. Russ loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan but became a New York Yankees Fan after the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, CA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Spring.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Russel Sexton's memory to the Campville Fire Department or the Tioga County Sportsman's Association.
