Connie Lee Allen, 82, Goshen, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after battling Alzheimer's for eight years. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933 in Warsaw to Lowell and Inez (Miller) Pontius. On Aug. 30, 1953, she married Sylvester "Sil" Allen in Claypool. He died Dec. 27, 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Todd (Laury) Allen, Bristol, and Scott (Kimberly) Allen, Elkhart, three granddaughters, Adriana Leigh; Natalie Elizabeth; and Bella Michelle; two grandsons: Jude Ryan, and Aaron Todd; two step-grandchildren, Justin and Hailey Gardner; a brother-in-law, Jerry Denny; and a sister, Bernadean "Deanie' Allen, Warsaw. Connie and Deanie married brothers, Sil and Donald. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Alberta Denny.
An impeccable homemaker, Mrs. Allen was devoted to her family and grandchildren. She loved music (she was a gifted pianist), reading and studying the Bible. She attended River Oaks Community Church and supported many local and national ministries.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, Dec. 9, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Tilley of River Oaks Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana or River Oaks Music Ministry.
