Charles Wayne Boston is the son of Charles Gaylord "Gay" Boston and Beulah F. (Ogilvie) Boston. He attended East Union school and graduated from Carthage High School in 1942, both located in Hancock County, Illinois. During WWII he served in the United States Air Force for 3 years. Charles was married to Ethel Marie Miller on 20 Jan 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The family lived on a farm southeast of Carthage, Illinois, later moving to a home they built in Carthage. In 1961 they purchased a farm near Macomb, Illinois. They were the parents of a son, Curtis Wayne Boston. Charles died when their son was only 6 months old.
