He was born on August 3, 1928 in Amalga, Utah to Roy E. Tidwell and Ellen Caravan Andersen.
He married Maxine Eunice Stroud on March 1, 1948. Their marriage was solemnized on October 5, 1959 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Robert served in the army for 18 months at the end of WWII. He retired from civil service at HAFB after 37 years.
He was very athletic and loved to swim and play softball. He also loved to go camping, fishing, hunting, and along with Maxine they traveled and were rock hounds.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, parents, 1 son, 1 daughter, 2 granddaughters and 5 siblings.
He is survived by 1 brother, Blaine Tidwell; son, Elden (Marian) Tidwell; daughters, Brenda (Michael) Squires, Lisa (Shawn) Gleason; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Robert) Tidwell; 9 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. with military honors..
