Davis, Viola Elizabeth, of Okla. City, was born Oct. 12, 1903 in Norman, OK to Simpson and Gertrude Duck and passed away on Aug. 23, 1998 at the age of 94. Viola grew up in Okla. City and graduated from Central High in 1921. She received a teaching certificate from O.C.U. and in 1923 began a 42-year teaching career. She taught in Jones, Wheatland, Council Grove and Putnam City. She received a Masters Degree in math education from O.C.U. in 1950.

In 1924 Viola married Flavel Davis and they settled in Wheatland where Mr. Davis was a banker. In 1941 the bank was moved to Bethany, OK. To this union was born one son, Milton F. Davis, on Dec. 6, 1930. Viola was a member of the Eastern Star, Putnam City Methodist Church, PEO, Kappa Kappa Iota, OEA and NEA.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Mr. Milton Davis and wife, Mary Ann; two grandchildren, Dr. Mark Davis, Tulsa, OK and Margo Phillips, Dallas, TX; five great grandchildren, Miller, Faith and Mary Caroline Davis, Tulsa, and Morgan and Madison Phillips, Dallas; niece, Carolyn Voeght, Santa Teresta, NM; and a cousin, Teddy Sorenson, Pharr, TX. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Flavel, sister, Nadine and brother, Bill.

Memorials may be made to the Putnam City Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services were held Aug. 26, 1998 at Gene Adams Funeral Service with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
