Nina Ione Charles, age 84 of Galena, KS, passed away at her daughter’s home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:45 PM.

Nina was born on February 14, 1932 in Hockerville, OK to the union of Lorenzo Dow Ferguson and Minnie (Cox) Ferguson. She was a lifetime resident of Galena, KS, and worked at Reed’s Café and St. John’s Regional Medical Center in housekeeping before retiring in 1993. Her hobbies include playing bingo and traveling.

She was united in marriage to Bobby L. Charles in Columbus, KS on October 26, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1981.

Survivors include one daughter, Tamara Frazier (husband, Michael) one sister-in-law Earlene Ferguson one grandson, Joshua Frazier (wife, Stacy Burrows) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Lowell Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate.
