Charles Richard "Dick" Curtner, age 82 of Troy, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home. He was a graduate of Fairview High School class of 1952, Indiana Central College with a B.S. in Education and Miami University with at Masters in Psychology. Dick started his teaching and coaching career with Dayton Public Schools. He later worked for more than 20 years at Northmont City Schools where he started as a school psychologist and later retired as Assistant Superintendent. After retiring, he enjoyed singing at various churches with Judy Wagner as his accompanist. Dick was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Miami County Retired Teachers Association and the Indianapolis University Greyhound Club. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years: Karen "Micki" (Patrick) Curtner, sister: Sandra Maher of NC, special brothers-in-law: Michael (Sandra) Courtney of Moraine, Charles (Cynthia) Patrick of Missouri, best friend: Donald (Charlotte) Bogard of Englewood, nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph Curtner and Katheryn (Dobbs) Wogoman, sister: Carolyn Steffes and brother: Rocky Curtner. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Rev. Dr. Stephen Gill officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
