Edward Lee Carr, 69, of Salem went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 1995.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy, was retired from employment at the VA Hospital, and was a 1972 LPN graduate of Burrell Memorial Hospital.

A gentle, loving, devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Winona F. Carr; two sons, Joseph and James and daughter-in-law Elaine of Salem; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Skip Hill of Little Rock, Donna and Michael Hamlin, Barbara and Gary Beaman all of Salem; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, David and Bernadine Carr of Seattle; sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Robert Muller of San Jose.

Funeral services will be at the graveside, Sherwood Memorial on May 11 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, 1995 at Lotz in Salem from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Ft. Lewis Rescue Squad.
