Susie was born to farming parents, Henry and Arrie Bell Frye Tharp who lived the majority of their lives near the foot of Skyline Drive, in the small community of Flint Hill, Virginia.
She married Phillip Bailey Criggar, Jr. on 5 June 1945 in Rockville, Maryland, and they continued to live in the area of Montgomery County for many years before finally settling on a 5 acre farm, on the Eastern Shore, in Greensboro, Maryland.
They had four children - three daughters and a son.
Susie was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was and always will be loved by all who knew her.
