Betty E. Anderson passed away peacefully at Iowa Methodist Hospital on September 4, 2006. A visitation with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 6 will be held in Des Moines at Westover Funeral Home, 6337 Hickman Road. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 7 at the Henry- Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Swea City, Iowa with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow the service at Harrison Township Cemetery. Betty was born to Elmer and Alice (Balmer) Jorgensen in Fairmont, MN on July 17, 1929. She was united in marriage to Edward C. Anderson on December 10, 1953 in Fairmont, MN.
Betty is survived by her husband, Edward C. Anderson; brothers, Milton (Patty) Jorgensen and family, Robert (Dorothy) Jorgensen and family all of Swea City, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Carmen Jorgensen and family of Dover, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Wayne and Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
