VALLEY CENTER -- Billie Jean Allen, 65, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido of a pulmonary embolism.
Born March 18, 1938, in Pittsburg, Texas, she lived in Valley Center for seven years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed music.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Fannie Minshew; and brother Charles Minshew, in 2002.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Alvin Allen of Valley Center; son and daughter-in-law John and Carla Allen of Valley Center; daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Bob Emswiler and Lori Allen and Beggie Mosley, all of Oceanside; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Cheryl Minshew of Lakeside, James and Cheryl Minshew of El Cajon, Victor Minshew of Valley Center and Dan and Debbie Minshew of Valley Center; sister-in-law Margie Minshew of Valley Center; sisters and brothers-in-law Fran and Bob Ardent of Valley Center, Sally and Stan Dunlap of Carlsbad, Delores and Larry Thweatt of Escondido, Mitzi and Ed Dodson of Phoenix, Ore., Christine Pederson of Pomeroy, Wash., and Nancy and Terry Doherty of Julian; and grandchildren Megan, Michelle, Marisa, Corinne, Brent and Connor.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 19, at Valley Center Cemetery. Cremation Services Inc. is handling arrangements.
