John Paul Waller went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the age of 96.

He was born in Winn Parish, Louisiana on October 31, 1919.

Mr. Waller married Anice Emmagean Ross Allen in Arlington on May 12, 2002 and they have resided in Alvarado, Texas for the past 13 years.

All three brothers proudly served in the United States military during World War II. John entered the United States Army on September 14, 1944 and received his training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was shipped overseas in February of 1945 and served in England, France, Belgium, and Germany before returning to the States August 18, 1945. During his tour he received the Victory Medal and Two Battle Stars. Mr. Waller was employed at Jet East Airlines for many years. He enjoyed fishing and fox hunting. And was a member of the Thompson Baptist Church of Alvarado.

John was preceded in death by his previous wife of more than 60 years, Emma Lavada Waller in 2001, his father, Reverend William Thomas "W.T." Waller, his mother, Grace Barnhill Waller, a step-son, Milton Ellison, and two brothers, Tom Waller and Resse Waller.

Survivors include his wife Anice Allen-Waller of Alvarado, nine step-children, and a beloved niece, Laura Ann Kruse.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Allen, Kenneth Allen, David Allen, Jose Hernandez, Jimmy Wester, and Derrick Cawthron.
