Winnifred “Winnie” Dora Etta (Williams) Johnson, 86, of Hastings, formerly of Odell, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Hastings, NE. She was born on Aug. 7, 1929 in Medford, Ore. Winnie graduated from Lafayette School in McMinnville, Ore. She married Virgil Leo Johnson on Jan. 31, 1948.

Winnie was born on August 7, 1929 to Fred and Winnie May Williams in Medford, Oregon.
After she graduated from Lafayette School in McMinnville, she married Virgil Leo Johnson on January 31, 1948.
She and Virgil lived in Oregon until 1960. They were blessed with one son and five daughters.
In 1960, they moved to Beatrice, Nebraska, and then in 1974 they moved to Odell, Nebraska. She worked at Leo’s Tavern and the Tiger’s Den in Odell.

Left with memories are one son, 4 daughters, 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters; 1 brother; 1 daughter; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 sons-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held 10 am Monday, February 15, 2016 at Odell United Methodist Church with Pastor Curt Magelky conducting the service and offering words of comfort. Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. A memorial is established to the Beatrice Humane Society with the mortuary in charge.
