ENOSBURG FALLS – Florence L. (Stetson) Towle, age 96, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born in Richford on May 11, 1919 to the late William J. & Nellie M. (Broe) McCarty.
Florence worked at several local businesses throughout her life, mainly as a cook or a waitress. She worked as a dietary clerk at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury for 10 years until she retired in 1984. After retirement Florence came back to Enosburg to spend her retirement with her family. Florence loved her family more than anything. She could name every child, grandchild, great grandchild and great great grandchild she had!
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Stetson and his wife Carolyn of Enosburg Falls; daughter-in-law, Joanne Stetson of Enosburg Falls; son-in-law, Robert McAllister of Richford and step-daughter, Judy Towle of St. Albans.
Her grandchildren, Timothy Stetson and his wife Kathy of Enosburg Falls, Tara Berry and her husband Roger of North Hartland, Traci Stetson of Enosburg Falls, Tanya Gervais and her husband Robert of Enosburgh, Tricia McFadden and her husband Albert of Franklin, Darlene Hull and her husband Jim of Enosburg Falls, Duane & Molly Stetson of North Stratford, NH, Dana Stetson and his wife Jennifer of Franklin, David McAllister and his wife Wilma of Richford and Daren McAllister and his fiancé Lisa of Swanton.
Her great grandchildren, David Stetson and his wife Christina, Daniel Stetson and his wife Kristieanna, Jason Berry and his wife Maegan, Michael Berry and his fiancé Bianca, Jessica Derosia and her fiancé Rob, Julie Kittell and her husband Caleb, Chad Gervais, Kraig, Karissa & Keirra McFadden, Tyler Hull, Katie Hull and her significant other Michael, Korie Stetson and her significant other Kaiser, Shelby Stetson and her significant other Josh, Zachary Stetson and his significant other Sarah, Isaiah, Taylor & Allison Stetson and Andrew McAllister and her great great grandchildren, Conner, Julieanna, Branden, Lucas, Troy, Chloe, Michael, Karlie & Kendall.
Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by a son, Gardner Stetson; a daughter, Carolyn McAllister; her first husband, Ralph Stetson; her second husband, Raymond Towle and her siblings, William, Howard, Raymond, Viola and Mabel.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Richford First Baptist Church, 33 School St., Richford officiated by Rev. Timothy Stetson, Florence’s grandson. Interment will be held in the South Franklin Cemetery, Towle Neighborhood Rd., Franklin.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of the service.
