Generia Jacobs, 93, passed away peacefully at home in Baytown, Texas, on February 10, 2016. She was born on November 4, 1922, in Leesville, Louisiana, Vernon Parish, to Alf Lee and Bertha Mae Greer. Her family came to Baytown when she was a small girl so that her dad could work at Humble Oil Refinery to support his large family.

For all of her many friends and family members, you need not be told what a character Generia was. She had such a vibrant and fun loving spirit. Generia was a hard working stay at home mother. She was a seamstress making wedding ensembles for many years along with all the twirler uniforms for all three junior high schools in Baytown in the 50's and 60's. She also ran a beauty parlor which was attached to her home on E. Fayle. She continued working in her shop until she was 86, and was greatly disappointed that she had to stop at that time. Her last gift to her beloved friends was to do their hair if they predeceased her.

Generia was an amazing cook and enjoyed entertaining in her home and at special venues. She was especially known for her Cajun meals and her delicious pies. Everyone attending had a favorite dish. Those who ever attended her parties know exactly what that means. She and her husband, Robert, also enjoyed many trips with family and friends through the years.

Generia was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee Jacobs, and her daughter, Betty Jean Davis. She is survived by her three children, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Generia left behind her son, Charles Jacobs and his three children Brent Ferrachi and wife Holly, Ashley Oatman, and Charles Jacobs; Carolyn Starr and her three children, Robert Starr and his wife Robertta, Kenneth Starr, and Jody Starr and his wife Colleen; the two children of Betty Jean Davis, Jared Davis and his wife Kimberly, and Jason Davis and his wife Lacee; and Allene Jacobs Webster and her three children, Kimberly Tingey and her husband Brent, Hillery Harris and her husband Chad, and Cory Lynn Webster-Hoang and her husband Teddy

In lieu of flowers donations to M.D. Anderson Research would be appreciated. Generia was a research patient from the age of 39. The amazing doctors that worked with her performed the very first removal of both the thyroid and parathyroid glands, and she received the first transplant ever of a parathyroid. This parathyroid was scheduled to last 2 years. She has defied all understanding as she continued to conquer a number of bouts of cancer throughout her life.

The viewing is scheduled at Navarre Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Navarre Funeral Home, followed by the internment at Memory Gardens on Garth Road, Baytown, Texas.
