Nadine Belk Shannon Hicks died February 11, 2016. She graduated from Messick High School and University of Memphis and taught at Christine, Messick and Sherwood Elementary Schools.

Mrs. Hicks was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Oakville Eastern Star, Alpha Sigma Delta Kappa Gamma, McWherter Bridge Group, a former Rainbow Worthy Advisor, Girl Scout and Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ora Gray Brinkmann and husbands Thomas Shannon and Cecil Hicks.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by daughters Nancy McPherson and Janet Brown (Dan); grandsons, Thomas McPherson, Michael McPherson, and Dan Brown, Jr. (Jill); great-grandchildren, Maddox McPherson and Emma Brown; stepson, Mark Hicks and several step grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 16 and funeral services will be at 1:00 Wednesday, February 17 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to St. Luke’s Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
