Bobby Hugh Futch, age 62, of Alma died Friday May 7th at Phoebe Putney Albany Hospital after an extended. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Robert Fulton Futch and Jewel Waters Futch and was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Warren Futch. Bobby Hugh was a member of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jan Meeks Futch of Alma, two daughters, Kimberly Pryor and husband David, Kandance Carter and husband Tim all of Alma, a sister, Joann Smith and husband Lamar of Blackshear, also several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Ray officiating, eulogies by Tullis Allen and Buck Harnage. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 P M to lie in state and the family will be receiving friends at the funeral home between 6 and 9 P M Monday evening. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers will be, Bobby Boatright, Tullis Allen, Buck Harnage, Johnny Nobles, Roger Johnson and Mark Anderson. Honorary will be, Billy & Judy Taylor, Bennie & Faye Cothern, Bryon & Dottie Ray, Dwight Sellers, William Hardy, members of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church, Bacon County Hospital Lab Employee’s, Linda Boatright, Nell Harnage, Betty Allen, Mark Helms, Emmitt Walsh and Dale Morris.
