Beatrice (Bea) Frances Callison Binder passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Colonial Manor in Lansing Kansas. She was born August 24, 1915 in Benton, Arkansas the daughter of Lula Maude Harris and John Cleveland Callison. As a young woman she moved to Leavenworth where she met and married Leo Binder, November 28, 1940 and spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. When her children were grown she worked at Dee's Floral as a designer and volunteered at Cushing Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Geraldine Lorraine Callison Jordan and Betty Aileen Callison Huffer and brothers: Roy Cleve, John Cleveland, Jr., and Ernest Britton. She is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Callison Keene and brother-in-law, Howard of Montgomery, Alabama; daughter, Barbara Binder Dawson, and son-in-law, Thomas of Lansing, Kansas; son, Walt Binder and daughter-in-law, Nina of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren; Susan Dawson McGowan of Lansing, Thomas Michael and wife, Tasha of Lansing, Ellen Binder, Daniel Binder, and Patrick Binder all of Kansas City and ANdrew Binder of New Britain, Connecticut. She is survived as well by six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Leah and Dawson McGowan, Amber Dawson and Isabella and Sidney Binder. Visitation will be held from 10-11am Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Davis Funeral Chapel with funeral service following at 11am at the funeral chapel. Chaplain Jack Divine will officiate. Private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity House in care of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
